Colossians 1:15 tells us,
[The Son] is the Image of the invisible God, Firstborn of every creature
The word "Firstborn" in this verse includes God's Son in the group of which He is the Firstborn, the creature group.
Trinitarians don't like this, but they can't muster a good argument against it, especially since the firstborn, throughout the Scriptures is always part of the group of which it is firstborn, whether firstborn in time or firstborn in status.
One of God's greatest glories is His power to create. And His greatest creation is His Firstborn Son. Don't let those in OrthoBOX Christianity diminish our heavenly Father's glory.
Hi Wes, love your teachings! If they are mortal, why aren't the AC and FP not incinerated immediately in the LOF like those facing The Judgment?
ReplyDeleteHi Curt. I'm glad you love the teachings. Thanks for your comment. The human antichrist/wild beast and false prophet will be supernaturally empowered, and probably indwelt by, by bad spirits. When Christ returns, the human AC/WB and FP will be killed, but the bad spirits that indwelt them will be cast into the lake of fire to be tormented there. The bad spirits retain the title of AC/WB and FP while they are tormented there.
DeleteDoesn't firstborn mean preeminent? It seems to me that Jesus is the eternal image of God, just as the Holy Spirit is the eternal expression of God.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment, Curt. "Firstborn" could mean firstborn in time, status, or both, depending on the context. Either way, the firstborn, throughout the Scriptures, is always part of the group in which it is the firstborn. Colossians 1:15 tells us the Son is the Firstborn and it is the creature group He is firstborn of, therefore He is in that group, the creatures.
