Dead Jesus couldn’t save Himself out of death (but He knew the One Who could)

Did dead Jesus save Himself out of death? No. He couldn't. He was dead. Dead-dead, not living-dead as OrthoBOX Christianity would have us believe.

The dead, including the Son of God, do nothing, know nothing, and God is not their God (Ecclesiastes 9:5,10; Luke 20:38). No one comes out of death apart from the power of the only true God, the only source of life, the Father of Jesus.

And (this is so good!), all will be saved out of death because "we rely on the living God, Who is the Savior of all mankind," (1 Timothy 4:10).

Death is the last enemy, and it will be undone for all.

  3. Hey Wes, I had a question for you if you have some free time and some input. What do you think about Messianic Judaism and the statements of Jesus in verses like Matthew 5:17 that seem to indicate the continued enforcement of mosaic laws for Christians? I have several friends who are very much convinced by theologies surrounding this and find a lot of biblical support for many of their claims. Merry Christmas Wes!

  4. Hey, thanks for the question, and Merry Christmas to you. Keep in mind that Jesus was sent only to the house of Israel, aka "the Circumcision" (Matt 15:24 & Rom 15:8). They are to continue in the law.

The risen and glorified Christ revealed another gospel/evangel to Saul/Paul for the nations outside of Israel, aka "the Uncircumcision." There are two gospels/evangels (Gal 2:7ff). The nations were never under the law, and still are not under the law.

This is how one can read Paul and James and realize they don't contradict each other, but they have different audiences.

I hope this helps. Let me know. Grace to you.
