Many, like John Piper, John MacArthur and Chris Date, actually teach that God's love is limited, and Jesus' death will only benefit some, not all.
These words from Jesus should settle the issue, but sadly, they don't for many people. John 3:16-17,
For thus God loves the world, so that He gives His only-begotten Son, that everyone who is believing in Him should not be perishing, but may be having life eonian.
17 For God does not dispatch His Son into the world that He should be judging the world, but that the world may be saved through Him.
But that's not all Jesus said on the matter. Watch the video. You'll be glad you did.
Love your videos. do you believe like Martin Z that there are two current gospels?
ReplyDeleteI don't believe there are 2 current gospels. Paul's gospel is just a continuation of or going further & deeper into the gospel of Christ is it not? Paul said if anyone preaches any other gospel then let HIM be accursed.
DeletePaul recognized the two gospels,
DeleteGalatians 2:7-8
"But, on the contrary, perceiving that I have been entrusted with the evangel of the Uncircumcision,
8 according as Peter of the Circumcision (for He Who operates in Peter for the apostleship of the Circumcision operates in me also for the nations).
The false Gospel Paul was speaking about was another one that attempted to put those who believed in his evangel of transcendent grace under law to maintain their salvation. Judaizers were trying to enslave people under the law.
Thanks for your comment. Yes, I believe there are two distinct evangels/gospels, one for the circumcision, and one for the uncircumcision.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe in Martin Z. I believe a lot he has to say but after all he is only a man and subject to vanity. If there is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, why would there be more than one gospel?
DeleteYou don't have to believe in Martin. He can't save anyone. Believe the Scriptures. I understand the teaching of 2 gospels can be confusing. But I believe what Paul said in Galatians 2:7-8,
Delete"But, on the contrary, perceiving that I have been entrusted with the evangel of the Uncircumcision,
8 according as Peter of the Circumcision (for He Who operates in Peter for the apostleship of the Circumcision operates in me also for the nations).
And I see the differences in the gospels preached by Paul and Peter and James.
There is a body of Christ, and a Bride of Christ (aka, the Lambkin, Rev. 19:7), and distinct messages for each.
Biblical teaching is clear that there’s only one true gospel and many false or fake gospels. Universalism is not a biblical teaching. You are committing the fallacy of special pleading and selective citing. John 3:16 teaches not only that Christ died for the world but also that only those who believe in Chris (see John 1:12).
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comment. His death and resurrection 2000 years ago is what saved us all (John 12:47-48, 17:4). Did He finish His work or not?
ReplyDeleteGod will grant all belief. The elect in this life, others later, through judgment. His judgment will cause all to honor Him, which will include all believing in Him (John 5:22-23).
There is no fallacy in believing He was successful in saving and will be successful in judging.
